Elizabeth A. Jenkins Hughes, aged 87, died Wednesday, August 16, 1972 at her residence on Evergreen Drive in Florence, Kentucky following a long illness. Elizabeth was the second wife of Silas P. Hughes who predeceased her.
Mrs Hughes was the daughter of Lucian and Kate Criswell Jenkins.
Elizabeth was predeceased by two of her children; Stanley W. Hughes, William Kirtley Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was survived by a daughter, Margaret Jean Hughes Doty (Robert) Mayhugh (Harry D.)of Florence, Kentucky (07/22/1922 - 05/21/1988), as well as two stepsons; Rev. Allie Lee Hughes of Lousiville, Kentucky and Rolla Bryant Hughes of Hillsboro, Ohio.
Mrs. Hughes was also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Tilda McBee of Cynthiana, Kentucky and Mrs. Myrtle Tandy of Lexington, Kentucky, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday, August 19, 1972 at Stith Funeral Home in Florence, Kentucky with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Stanley and William are intered with their parents, however, there is no stone marking these graves.

Although Elizabeth Hughes' grave is # 4 in a family plot of four graves, she is buried in the third grave between her husband, Silas, and her son, Stanley.
