Charles T. Fox was born Sept. 1, 1918, at Canton, a son of Frank and Grace L. Smith Fox. He graduated from Canton High School, and in 1939, he graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

He married Dorothy Rose Ekins on July 9, 1944, at the Lutheran church in Reardon, Wash.

A licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1939, Mr. Fox and his wife purchased the Claude H. Preston Funeral Home in 1947. In 1949, they purchased the Lester J. Brown Funeral Home, Lisbon. Mr. Fox purchased McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, in 1955, and operated it for several years as the McLellan- Fox Funeral Home. In 1965, he and his wife purchased the Eustis Funeral Home, Hammond. Mr. Fox owned and operated Fox Funeral Homes at Heuvelton, Ogdensburg, Lisbon and Hammond for many years, retiring in 1979.

He served in the Army Air Force for four years during World War II.

Mr. Fox was a member of the VanHeuvel Lodge 941, Free and Accepted Masons, Royal Arch Masons Chapter 63, Ogdensburg Commandery 54 Knights Templar, Robert J. Woodside Post 550 American Legion, and Media Temple Shrine, Watertown.

He was also a past patron and member of Florence B. Beattie Chapter 349, Order of the Eastern Star, a member and past president of Ogdensburg Rotary Club and St. Lawrence County Funeral Directors Association, a former director of the Ogdensburg Savings and Loan Association, New York State Funeral Director's Association, and American Red Cross, and an honorary member of the Heuvelton Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Fox was also a member of Heuvelton United Methodist Church and was a trustee, lay leader and choir member.
