Norma Charlene Wood Boatright, 60, of Alma died suddenly Saturday, November 1, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A native of Bacon County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Reese Wood and Clyde Katto Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Larry Boatright and a brother, Maurice Wood. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Gregory Hugh Boatright, Alma; a brother, Carlton Wood (Nell), Alma and a sister, Margaret Wildes (Bryant), Alma.

Visitation will take place from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at New Union Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, from the New Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Thrift, the Rev. Loren Bryant and the Rev. Joe Thigpen officiating.

Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma.

Active pallbearers will be Alex Bowen, Byron Wood, Jammie Moore, Scott Hollaway, Shane Taylor and David Abercrombie.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class at New Union Church and all others in attendance.

Crosby Funeral Home of Alma is in charge of arrangements.
