THE MAPLETON PRESS - Thu, Jan 17, 1918 - Herbert Aldrich for the past 25 years a resident of Monona county was found dead in bed last Saturday morning at his home on the Lou Alleamang farm northwest of Mapleton by his sister Miss Francis Kelley who had kept house for him since the death of their mother some years ago. Mr Aldrich had died some time during the night of heart trouble.
Mr Aldrich was 41 years of age. He was born at Monticello but resided in Carroll county until 16 when he came here with his parents. About 9 years ago he fell and broke his hip and had been a cripple since then.
His mother who died 10 years ago is buried in Mt Hope cemetery and he was place by her side.
