Ulysses "Lit" Kersey was the youngest child of William John Kersey and Mary Scarborough. It is believed he was born in Georgia. He lived a very long life - 90 yrs. According to the censuses over the years he was a teamster in 1900, working for a sawmill in Echols County, GA in 1910, again as a sawyer i Marion Cnty, FL in 1920 and he moved to Manatee Cnty, FL as a sawyer for the 1930 census. He moved out to Texas with his daughter Ida Mae and that is where he passed, his death certificate lists his occupation as a car salesman.
On February 8, 1901 he married Ella Mae Minnie Gnann in Green Cove Springs, Clay County, FL. They had five children: Ida Mae Kersey-Moore-Cox, Ulysses Samuel Kersey Jr. "Buck", Getrude Kersey Overly, Guy Cecil Kersey, and Dallas Kersey ___?____.
He is kin to me via his parents and this is why I have made this memorial.
On February 8, 1901 he married Ella Mae Minnie Gnann in Green Cove Springs, Clay County, FL. They had five children: Ida Mae Kersey-Moore-Cox, Ulysses Samuel Kersey Jr. "Buck", Getrude Kersey Overly, Guy Cecil Kersey, and Dallas Kersey ___?____.
