Micajah S Abling, better known as Mack. Father John Abling was born in Hanover, Germany 1805. Mack was born in Ohio about 1838. He was in Missouri when the Civil War began and enlisted in 1861 in the volunteer unit, the Missouri 2nd North East Infantry. It is likely he served for 3 years. In 1865 he was back in Ohio where he married Nancy Nealy. They had 3 children - William , Mary and Synthia. According to a family tree, he then married Alvira Partridge and they had 4 children - Henry, Anna, Rosetta and Ellsworth. He then married (April 13 1887 Durango) Lydia Rockwood. He recieved his Civil War Pension as an invalid in 1891 and died December 26, 1896.

During the war, he would have seen significant action both in Tennessee and Georgia.
