Grace Maude Nance, daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth McKibben Hockings, was born at Bone Gap, Illinois on July 15, 1892 and departed this life at the Corning Memorial Hospital, Corning, California, 5:40 a.m. March 1, 1962 at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 16 days. On February 27, 1907, she was united in marriage with William B. Nance. To this union eight children were born. She was a member of the Shobonier Baptist Church. She leaves her husband, William; four sons, Tommy and William of Ellensburg, Washington; Robert and Ben of Hayward, California; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Johnson, Oakland, California; Mrs. William Springer and Mrs. Eugene Cross, Hayward, California.
