Died 8:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 1988, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 70, a native of Bassfield, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Goldrush Drilling Co. employee. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at noon Thursday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Spillman. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Doris M. Martin; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Juanell) Stagg, Port Barre; two sons, Grover Kenneth Martin and George Nathan Martin, both of Baton Rouge; a stepdaughter, Sandra Harrell, Baton Rouge; a stepson, Randy Kendrick, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Ethel Lois Wilks, Bassfield,Eva Russell, Sumrall, Miss., Katherine Lucas, Fort Worth, Texas, and Geneva Talkington, Wills Point, Texas; a brother, Charles Martin, Fresno, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Glenoaks Baptist Church and Masonic Hall, Lake Providence.
