MOBILE COUNTY - James "Jim" Broadus, a lifelong resident of Mobile, died Thursday at his home in Grand Bay. He was 59.
Broadus was a U.S. Army veteran who retired from Degussa Chemical Co. after 19 years. He also was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church in Grand Bay.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Clara Johns Broadus of Grand Bay; two daughters, Lyn Garcia of Freeport, Texas, and Sherry LaVelle of Grand Bay; three sisters, Ellen Miller and Ella Young, both of Grand Bay, and Laura Dodge of Stockton; two brothers, Jack Broadus and Bill Broadus, both of Mobile; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service at Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
