He was the son of David and Tamesin (Hall) Glover. He lived in Orleans Co, NY where he married Julia Ann Carr in 1835. In 1839 the family moved to White Pigeon Prairie, St Joseph Co, MI and moved to Edwardsburg shortly thereafter. After his death, Julia remarried, 1st to John Earle, who is laid next to Orville and later to Henry Hall with whom she moved to Buchanan, MI.

Orville & Julia had five children:

Lowell H
Jay O
Tamerson
William H
