He was a graduate of Bloomington High School, Bloomington, Indiana, and attended Indiana University, where he was a member of the I.U. Wrestling team under Coach Billy Thom. He was a veteran of U.S. Air Force serving as a bomber pilot in World War II and the Korean War.
He attended Maranatha Baptist Church at Covington. He was a member of B.P.O.E. of Rockville, the American Legion of Waynetown, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Indiana University Alumni Association.
Surviving are: a son, Dr. Homer W. (Bill) Faucett II, Hillsboro; a grandson, Homer W. Faucett III, Bloomington; a granddaughter, Andrea Faucett, Hillsboro; and five sisters, Rosemand Holmes, Ellettsville; Jane Wilson, Demotte, Mary Shields of Illinois; and Edith Thrasher, Bloomington; and Claire McKay, Lake Wawasee. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Laudice Faucett; and two sisters, Hazel Scott and Mabel Freeman.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Henry C. Stidham officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Waynetown American Legion.
