The death angel has again entered our city and taken from our midst one of its most worthy and respected citizens. Mr. Jacob P. Kunkel, who died at his home Tuesday afternoon at 4:10 o'clock. after an illness of some weeks at the age of 69 years. Deceased was an old settler of this section and stood high in the esteem of everybody whose fortune it was to know him. Many men pass from this terrestrial sphere and their absence not be noticeable, but such is not the case in this instance, for Jacob Kunkel was everybody's friend: a man possessed of that spirit which made his existence among his fellowmen a pleasure and his death is a great loss to this community but our is heaven's gain. He was a true Christian: he was a member of the Methodist church and died in the Savior's embrace. The funeral took place at the cemetery yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, a funeral sermon having been preached at the Methodist church by Rev. Braden at 2 o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing friends. To the heart broken wife and daughter who survive him, The Mirror extends condolence in this their hour of sad bereavement.
