He was born in Wayne County, Missouri, and came to Oroville in 1923. He worked for Hutchinson Mills and then left her for a period of about two years during which time he was engaged in the grocery business in Sacramento and Yuba City. He owned a small ranch near Biggs. He retired from active business five years ago.
Mr. Wallis is survived by his wife, Jannie Ann. He was the father of Vern B. Wallis of Marysville, Willie E. Wallis of Oroville Revern Lee Wallis of Yuba City, Mrs. Lattie Cunha of Oroville, Mrs. Eula Turk of Marysville, Mrs. Jane Lawrence of Biggs and Mrs. Maxine Root of Oroville. He was the brother of Leonard Wallis of Oroville, John Wallis, Mrs. Margaret Clifford and Mrs. Altie Blackwell, all of Blodgett, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Palms, Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family plot in Cherokee Cemetery.
