He was born July 7, 1924, in Floydada. He attended schools in Dougherty and Floydada.
He married Eunice Laurine Langley on Oct. 18, 1946, in Floyd County. She died June 23, 1992.
He moved to Lubbock in 1994. He retired from Covington Oil and Butane in Dougherty in 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Frank and Robert, both of Lubbock; two brothers Kent of Floydada and Jack of Lockney; a sister, Jean Mayes of Dallas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
