Stella Wright Berrett, age 92, died on January 12, 1990 in Sandy, Utah at the home of her daughter Yvonne Bishop.

She was born September 11, 1897 in Union, Utah; daughter of William Arthur Wright and Sarah Arnetta Brady. Married her childhood sweetheart, John Harold Berrett on April 13, 1916. They were sealed on October 13, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her husband, John Harold died on June 29, 1971. She lived in Union until she moved with her husband to Riverton.

She was active in the LDS Church and worked in various capacities including Primary teacher, Visiting Teacher, Ward and Stake Secretary for the YWMIA, and Secretary and Counselor in the Riverton First Ward Relief Society Presidency. She was a charter member of the Riverton Lady Lions Club. She was an avid reader and was a member of the Riverton Ladies Literary Club. She loved her heritage and was a member of the Brady Cousin's Club.

She had red hair and a keen sense of humor. She was always interested in helping those less fortunate. She loved her family and sacrificed much in their behalf. Three of her sons, Emery, Melvin, and LaMar served in the military in World War II. One son, Vere, served in the military during the Korean conflict. She supported her husband as Bishop of the Riverton First Ward and as the first Stake President of the Riverton Stake. Three of her sons have served as Bishops: Melvin, LaMar and Vere.

Even though one third of her life was spent under extreme health conditions, she had 60 years of devoted service to those who surrounded her in family, church, and community. She was a dedicated wife, a wonderful mother, and a loving grandmother.
