Shawnee resident Cleo Pearl Eadus, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in Shawnee.

She was born April 21, 1927, in Okmulgee to Cleve and Pearl (Compton) Cox. Born in Okmulgee, she was reared in Bristow. Following her marriage, the family lived in California for a while before moving back to Ok, living in Tulsa and Carney before moving to Shawnee in 1996.

In 1967, she married Bill Eadus in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She worked as a key punch operator, and later a data entry operator, retiring from the Department of Human Services. She was active in the Shawnee YMCA. She enjoyed quilting. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the focal point of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Charlene Smith of Newport News, Va; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Potts of Tulsa, and Pat and Jim Rollins of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Janelle Rann, Jeff Potts, Sarah Lasher, Holly Ramsey, and Alicia Wright; six great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and other family members.
