KATIE MURRIL STICKLER, 61, of Hamlin passed away Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Lincoln Continuous Care Center, Hamlin. She was born February 11, 1942, at Big Laurel, a daughter of the late Howard and Edith Walls Adkins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Fenzie Dewayne Adkins. She is survived by her husband, Jack Stickler; two sons, Douglas Stickler and Jay Stickler, both of FHamlin; one daughter and sin-in-law, Gail and Tim Thaxton of Yawkey; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Idar and Junior Smith of Griffithsville, Vida and Glenn Doneff of Climers Creek, Marie and Richard Browning of Hamlin and Mary Lou Adkins of Hamlin; one brother and sister-in-law, Ross and Mary Lou Adkins of Hamlin; two grandchildren, Kately Thaxton and Kashawna Elkins. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin. Burial will follow at Harveys Creek Cemetery, Route 34, Hamlin. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at the funeral home.
