Elida Agnes Martin Woodbury, 93, died on Saturday, January 6, 1990 at an Ogden Nursing Home of causes incident to age.


Born December 28, 1896 in Ogden, a daughter Clemence Hetherington and Jane VanKomen Martin. Married LeRoy Woodbury on April 3, 1919 in Farmington; marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He died on December 15, 1974. She was a lifelong resident of Ogden, and attended Ogden City schools. Graduate of Weber Academy. Member LDS Church, and had been a member of the Ogden 4th Ward all of her life. Primary and Sunday School Teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teacher for more than 24 years. Mrs. Woodbury had been Ogden PTA Central Council Safety Chairman and was instrumental in getting a traffic light placed at the corner of 20th and Washington Boulevard to afford students of the Dee School a safe crossing. She was Dee School PTA President and Ogden Navy Mothers Club Commander. She also belonged to the Legislative Council and Nitecaps Club. During World War II she was employed at the Ogden Arsenal and also worked for the American Can Co., Tupperware Co., Fuller Co. and Niagra Co.


Survived by three sons and three daughters, Thaddeus C. ''Ted'' Woodbury, Robert E. Woodbury, both of Ogden; Harry E. Woodbury, Pleasant View; Mrs. William (Helen) Blonquist, Coalville; Mrs. William (Dorathy) Davis, Medina, Texas; Mrs. Harold (Frances) Luddington, Ogden; 28 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Lena) Wilson, Mrs. Marvin (Jannie) Lofton, both of Ogden. Preceded in death by two sons and one daughter, Martin LeRoy Woodbury, LeRoy Perry ''Woodie'' Woodbury, and Lola Agnes Woodbury Yancey.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Boulevard, with Bishop Douglas Saunders, of the Ogden 4th Ward officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Ogden City Cemetery.
