Sarah Endsley Hannah was married to William Harvey Hannah. Much about her life is a mystery in which we are continuing to try and figure out. Sarah had 6 children who were all given the "Hannah" surname, however, only two were legitimate children of William Harvey Hannah.

William Harvey Hannah fathered both Anne (Hannah) Detherow & Margaret (Hannah) Davis.

William passed away in 1838 at only 34 years old. His death and burial are unknown. Her next child, James Riley Hannah was born in 1840. Little has been spoken about his biological father. In a letter written by Sarah's granddaughter, Ellen (Hannah) Gilpin, James' father was said to have been a man named Moore whom Sarah married and lived in Arkansas at one point. She had three more children, Sarah & Martha Hannah (twins) and Nancy Caroline Hannah. It is speculation that the three remaining girls were fathered by a Cherokee Indian. It is unclear if it was two different fathers or the same father. You can definitely tell by the features of Martha & Sarah that they indeed have Native American features. Sarah moved From Monroe Co, TN to Marshfield, Missouri in November 1857, just before the Civil War. She came with her 6 children, including her two married daughters and their husbands.
