G.I. Rupert Lore, Sr, age 78 of Lexington Park, died Monday after a long illness. He was the head of G.I. Rupert Lore and Sons an oyster and crab packing company in Calvert at St. Mary's counties. Mr. Lore was one of the first people to establish oyster farms in the Patuxent River.
Services were held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lexington Park.
He was survived by three sons, Gordon I.R. Lore, Jr., Jon Shaw Lore and Joseph Cob Lore, two sisters Anna Zahniser, and Sarah Malone, three brothers Kenneth E. Lore, Joseph C. Lore, and William Preston Lore, and seven grandchildren. His wife, the former Dora DeBoy died in 1979.
