WEST VALLEY/RICHFIELD, UTAH-

Coleen Pearson Anderton, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, returned to her heavenly home, and into the loving arms of her Father in Heaven, Aug. 4, 2002, in Richfield, Utah.

Coleen was born in Sevier, Utah, to Alta Iona Gilbert and Marvin Ray Pearson on Nov. 12, 1929. She married John Richard Anderton on Oct. 1, 1949. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She is survived by her husband Richard; her sons: Larry (Rae Lynn), Terry (Ginger), John, and Steven; and her daughters: Dianne (Tom) Eatchel, Cathy (Steve) Barela, Linda (Neil) Cowley, and Dixie (Curtis) Anderson; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; a sister, Beverly Pitts (Lewis) Nielson; a brother, O'Dean (Brenda) Pearson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two step-brothers: Evan O. Bown, and Deloy Bown; and an infant son, Robert Michial.

Coleen's greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished her husband and children. She had a loving, compassionate nature, and a keen sense of humor. She was a peacemaker -- always positive, willing to listen and forever patient. She was a nurturing mother, and a grandmother to all. We will always remember her tender brown eyes, dimpled smile and lighthearted laughter.

Coleen and Richard raised their children in West Valley, Utah, where they lived for most of their married life. Richfield, Utah was their home at heart and they returned there often. Coleen worked for many years at Abbott Medical Supplies formerly Sorenson Research, in West Valley, Utah where she made many lasting friendships. She served faithfully for many years in various callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She endured many trials in her life, and still her faith never wavered.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 4th, 7th and 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 N. 400 W. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S. 100 W. in Richfield, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Ward chapel Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, UT.
