Louise Easterling, 92, a former resident of Glennville, died peacefully in her rest at her home in Columbia, South Carolina, Monday evening, April 25, 2005. She is the daughter of the Rev. A. V. Barnard and Mamie, who lived at the site now occupied by Barnard Park. Barnard Park was donated to the City by Asa Barnard, a brother of Louise. Louise was the last surviving member of the A. V. Barnard family, which included Eudell, Louise, Reggie and Asa. She was the widow of William B. Easterling, a carpenter, who died in 1975.
She is survived by two sons, Willard B. Easterling of Winter Park, Florida, and Eric J. Easterling of Columbia, South Dakota. Willard (Billy) Easterling, graduated from Glennville High School in 1948.
She worked in the Slotin Department Store in Glennville for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Cobb Funeral Home. Burial was the Barnard family plot in Glennville City Cemetery.
Cobb Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
