Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Adeline Birdwell, 78, Limestone Nursing Home, were at 2 p.m. Friday at McConnell Funeral Home. A. J. Rollings and Tonis Davis were the officiating ministers and burial was in the Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Birdwell died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Limestone Nursing Home.
Surviving are her husband, Onis P. Birdwell, Limestone Nursing Home; four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Harwell and Mrs. J. T. Nave, both from Athens, Mrs. Mary Weeks, Miami, FL, and Mrs. Douglas Farney, LaJolly, CA; five sons, Emmett A. Birdwell, V. E. Birdwell, and P. G. Birdwell, all from Athens, I. H. Birdwell, Kalamazoo, MI, and Hollis Birdwell, Decatur; three brothers, Bennett Romine, Athens, Will Romine, Hohenwald, TN, and Grover Romine, St. Petersburg, FL; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Clifford L. Birdwell, who died in 1953.
