SAN DIEGO Funeral for Robert Clifton Chebahtah, 67, San Diego, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Bible Church with Leonard Reimer, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Chebahtah died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in a San Diego medical center.

Burial will be in Deyo Mission Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1940, in Lawton, to Leonard William and Mary Ann Paddyaker Chebahtah. He attended Hoover High School in San Diego. He then attended Mesa Community College in San Diego, where he received an Associates Degree in Applied Science. He joined the Air Force in 1961 and served for 10 years, until 1971. He served two terms in Vietnam and retired from civil service at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in April 2008.

Survivors include three brothers: James Irwin Chebahtah, Shakopee, Minn.; Julian Chebahtah, Tacoma, Wash.; and Richard Leon, Peoria, Ariz.; three sisters: Lenore Grissom, Bellflower, Calif.; Emma Jo Griffin, Mobile, Ala.; and Marie Chebahtah, Walters; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gay Chebahtah; maternal grandparents: Black Moon and Day Child, Ervin Red Elk Sr. and Mollie Day Child; and paternal grandparents, Chevato and Pihe.
