Teresa Marie Raines, 82, of Austin, died March 2, 2008 at Boise.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. Vault interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pastor Roger Scovil of the Baker City Christian Church will officiate. There will be a reception afterward at the Baker Elks Lodge, 1896 Second St.

Visitations will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Gray's West & Co.

Teresa Marie was born on Jan. 17, 1926, at Ontario to John Floyd and Margarite Miller Hammack. Throughout her life she lived at Ontario, Unity, and Bates for 25 years and at Austin for 33 years. She married Forrest Eugene Raines on May 18, 1946, at Canyon City.

She was a wife and mother most of her life. She worked a few years out of the home at the Austin House and G&L Pine at John Day.

She enjoyed many years of smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee with her friend, Rosalie. Teresa also spent time rockhounding, bottle collecting, mining, making embroidery and gardening.

She was a dog lover and enjoyed reading poetry and the Bible. Teresa loved her family and friends with a whole heart, her greatest pleasure was being in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Eugene Raines; her daughter, Judy Ann Raines; her parents, John F. and Margarite Hammack; and a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Frances Preston and her husband, Harold, Phronsie Raines and Billie Jo George and her husband, Terry; grandchildren, Todd Butts and his wife, Marcy, Michele Bartlett and her husband, Michael, John George, Terry George and his wife, Sarah, Amber Rittenbach and her husband, Rory, and Levi Preston; great-grandchildren, Joshua Butts, Tristan Butts, Forrest George, Emily George and Benjamin Bartlett; brothers, Delbert "Bud" Hammack and Robert "Bob" Hammack; sisters Alice Irene "Boots" Curtis, Karen Hensen and Norma Parrett; brother-in-law James L. "Tobe" Raines and his wife, Laura Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Baker Elks Lodge, No. 338, Scholarship Fund through Gray's West & Co., 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814.
