Dr. William E. White, colored, died very suddenly at St. John's hospital yesterday morning from a stroke of epilepsy and a complication of diseases. Dr. White was taken to St. John's hospital Tuesday night, having suffered a stroke of epilepsy at the home of his sister, Mrs. Addie Barton, where he had been staying.
Dr. White was born in this city April 3, 1969, and received his early education in the public schools of Springfield. He later studied medicine and practiced his profession in Chicago and New York for a number of years, returning to Springfield a year ago to make his home with his sister.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Barton, and one brother. Interment will take place in Oak Ridge cemetery.
