THE EVENING NEWS--PLATTSMOUTH---January 7, 1907
Henry Watson who passed away in this city Saturday afternoon, at 5 o'clock, was born near Nashville, Tenn., in 1820, and grew to manhood near Louisville, Ky. He was united in marriage to Miss Jane Shayler in St. Clair County, Mo., in 1850, and removed to Mills county, IA., that year, where they resided until Oct. 1854, when they removed to this county and resided on a farm located only about three miles south of the city. They removed to Plattsmouth in 1877, where he has since resided. His wife died May 12, 1901. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Frank McNurlin, and one son Curtis Watson. of Gaven, Wash.
Deceased was a member of the United Brethren Church south of town, where the funeral services were conducted this afternoon by Rev. J. E. Houlgate, assisted by Rev. Brink, pastor of that church. The pall bearers were Bennett Chrisweiser, W.W. Cole, Jacob Tuietsch, John Fight, Charles Martin and Frank Shopp.
