William A. M. Glasscock may have been the son of George W. Glasscock and Catherine Gray of Tennessee. As of 26 Mar 2016, no legitimate evidence or documentation has been found to support his parentage. He was born on June 8, 1833 in Randolph County, Arkansas. Family rumor says his middle initial A might stand for Albert.

William had five siblings: Capt. Henry Washington Glasscock, George F. Glasscock, Sarah A. Glasscock, R. D. Glasscock, and Belle Glasscock.

William's parents, if they are George W and Catherine Gray Glasscock, are reported to have died in Randolph County in either 1834 or 1845 (just three days apart), leaving him and his siblings orphans. As of the 1850 US census, he and brother Henry are living with William G. Bohaning (a widower) and his 1 year old daughter, Louisa, in Union, Arkansas. Their relation to William, if any, is unknown.

William married Lucinda Cassandra Jones in Greene County, Arkansas. The date of their marriage is unknown at this time. Together, they had five children: George C. Glasscock, Luvisa Caroline Glasscock (Romines), Sarah A Glasscock (Lockhard), Henry Franklin "Frank" Glasscock, and William Washington "Bill" Glasscock.

William was noted as having consumption on the 1880 US census, around the same time his first wife died. On July 24, 1890, William married Hypasia Posilee Curlin in Randolph County.

On February 24, 1896, William died in Randolph County at the age of 62.

Update: Recently, his Last Will and Testament was discovered online. It was written by William himself on 3 Feb 1896 in anticipation of his death. He died just 21 days later. His cause of death was most likely consumption. He was buried at Bailey Cemetery in Dalton where his daughter Luvisa would also eventually be buried in 1909.
