Jay Romney Edwards 1918 ~ 2006 Jay Romney Edwards, age 87, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born April 21, 1918 in Salt Lake City, the first born son of Jay Cornelius and Deane (Romney) Edwards. He enlisted in the aviation cadet program in 1943 and was in the Advanced Flight Training Program when the war ended. He married Mary Louise McBride on August 8, 1947 in Salt Lake City. He then was discharged and spent 30 years working at Tooele Army Depot when he retired in 1970. During his life he loved to fly and was a pilot. He and Louise spent many years of retirement fishing, camping and boating. He always traveled to visit his daughter and her family wherever they lived. He loved his family and his country. He is survived by his wife Mary Louise (McBride) Edwards; daughter, Shauna Edwards (Mark) Fishler of Heber Valley; grandchildren; Daniel (Sara) of Las Vegas, NV; Sarah (Jeremy) Rice of Salem, OR; Nathan of Hauula, Hawaii; and Alexander of Heber. Also, sister, Barbara Hogensen of Salt Lake; brothers Ralph of Tallassee, Alabama and Robert of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. at the Canyon Rim Stake Center, 3051 South 2900 East. Friends and family may visit on Saturday morning, February 18, 2006 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Grantsville City Cemetery, 7 Park Street at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Mortuary.
