Margaret L. Huffman, 83, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Chanute Healthcare Center.
She was born in rural Rose, Kansas, on July 26, 1925, the daughter of David and Beatrice (Tuttle) Thornton.
She attended schools in Stark.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Huffman. They later divorced.
She was then united in marriage to Harry Aikins. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1998.
She later remarried Lyle Huffman. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2004.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Faith Bible Church.
Margaret is survived by a son, Alan Huffman and wife Debbie of Chanute, KS; three daughters Darlene Clark of Chanute, KS, Donna Ahadi and husband Ebbie of Port Isabel, TX, and Karen George and husband Jim of Dallas, TX; three stepsons, Dale Aikins, Jack Aikins and Tom Aikins; seventeen grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold Thornton, Leroy Thornton and Harlan Thornton; and a great-granddaughter, Rochelle Huffman.
Funeral services will be October 29, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery on West 21st Street, Chanute, Kansas.
Memorials in her name may be made to the Faith Bible Church and may be left with the funeral home.
Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
