Heber City Man Dies
HEBER CITY – Nymphas Warren Murdock, 79, of Heber City, died in an Orem nursing home Friday afternoon following a long illness.
He was born June 17, 1887, in Charleston Wasatch County, the son of Joseph Royal and Margaret Wright Murdock.
He married Emile C. Hicken, March 7, 1907, in Heber City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Jun 27, 1928. He later married Retta Angle, June 26, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He attended Brigham Young University.
An active member of the LDS Church, he served a mission to the northwestern states. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Heber Sixth Ward.
He was a rancher and stockman, and was former owner of Murdock Apartments in Heber City.
Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters, Mrs. D. L. (Fay) Hilton and Niff P. Murdock, both of Heber City; Joe O. Murdock of Kamas; John R. Murdock, Provo; N. Carl Murdock, Salt Lake City; Norma Houston, Houston, Tex.; Barney Murdock, Ely, Nev.; Mrs. Lyman (Thora) Bingham, Casa Grande, Ariz.; Mrs. Melvin (Catherine) Dugger of Kearns, and Royal P. Murdock of Ogden; 46 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Sheppard, Mrs. Cora Smith, Erma Dickson, Mrs. Sadie Henroyd and Mrs. Chlo Jacobs, all of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at l p.m. in the Heber Sixth Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary in Heber City, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday after 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
