According to information in census records, etc., Ben was the son of Ashley Marion Rawlins and Martha Swearingen Rawlins of Georgia. They were living in Dodge Co., Ga. when Bennie/Benjamin was born and shown as 11 in 1900 and born in February, 1889. He was with them in 1920 in Laurens Co. (next to Dodge) and shown as age 30, He was single and manager of a dry goods store. Don’t know where he was in 1910 as he wasn’t with them. However, Bennie’s mother died in 1921 and in the 1930 census he and his wife, Lois L. were living in Waycross, Ware County, Georgia where he was shown as Hotel Prop. and Lois was asst. mgr. He was 40 and she was 20 and they had been married about 1 year. His widowed father, Ashley M. was living with them. Ashley died 8-5-1938 in Berrien Co., Ga. and buried there in the same cemetery with one of his daughters and her family.
