Mr. Byron, 87, died Monday, Sept. 21, at Panola Nursing Home.
Born June 11, 1900 in Houston, he was the son of W. C. and Adella Parker Byron. Mr. Byron moved to Carthage in 1950 from Jacksonville. He was the founder of Panola Monument Company and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son: Gene Byron of San Diego, Calif.; one brother: Allen Byron of Houston; two sisters: Melba Gasow of Orange, Evelyn Morgan of Beaumont; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
