"RUTH B. MATLEY
"Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Ruth Bixby Matley, 72, who died at the Herlong Medical Center on May 26, will be held at Our Lady of Snows Church in Reno on Thursday at 2 p. m. with interment to follow in the Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno. Rosery services will be held at the Ross-Burke & Knobel Mortuary in Reno this evening at 7:30.
"The deceased was born in El Paso, Tex., on Dec. 30, 1912, and had resided in the Doyle area for the past 40 years. She attended the University of Nevada at Reno and was a teacher at schools in Yerington, Nev., and Danville, Calif. She was a member of the Lassen County CowBelles, Phi Beta Phi, Alliance Francais and Our Lady of Snows Church in Reno.
"Survivors include her husband, John F. [sic], of Doyle; a son, John E. [sic], of Doyle; a daughter, Katherine Kershaw of Reno; a step-daughter, Gail Matthews of Reno, and three grandchildren."
