Mr. William Kenneth Adams, Sr., 81, of Waycross died Friday morning at Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Waycross to the late George Watson Adams and Florence Elizabeth Moore Adams.
He has made Waycross his home for all of his life and worked for the Water Department with the City of Waycross for 46 years before his retirement in 1991. Mr. Adams was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed painting with watercolors, working with crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, studying history, landscaping and mowing grass.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Harper Adams.
Mr. Adams is survived by a son, William K. "Buba" Adams, Jr. (Joyce ) of Waycross,
three daughters:
Beth Sellers (Terry) of Waycross,
Becky Shugart of Waycross,
Bitsy Miles (Randall) of Waycross,
five grandchildren,
William K. "Trey" Adams, III, of Waycross,
Virginia Altman and her husband Doug of Hoboken,
T.J. Moore and his wife Amaris of Waycross,
Crystal Moore of Waycross,
Jeffrey Wilson of Waycross,
five great grandchildren
, Kaylee Moore, Eli Grace Altman, Lacey Fulton, Jacob William Moore, Aden Altman,
a sister, Elizabeth Cuneo of Blackshear
and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A private graveside service will be held in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 pm, at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
