Michelle Rose Koopman, 44, of Iola, Kansas, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
She was born July 21, 1964, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Conrad and Rose (Cavanaugh) Heiman.
She moved to a farm west of Iola with her family at an early age. She was graduated from Iola High School.
On Dec. 21, 1984, she was married to Martin "Russ" Koopman. They made their home in Wichita, KS. He died June 26, 1999, and she moved to Iola.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son, Conrad R., Iola, KS; two daughters, Kristin Koopman, San Francisco, CA, and Stephanie Koopman, Coffeyville, KS; and three sisters, Patricia Heiman, Laura Mead and Gail Laymon, Iola, KS.
A sister, Dorothy Heiman, died earlier.
Funeral Mass at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Wachter will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery in Piqua, Kansas.
Contributions to Michelle Koopman memorial fund may be left at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels, which is in charge of arrangements.
