KATHLEEN "KAT" MORGAN PASICKI

Kathleen "Kat" Morgan was born to Kyle Estile Morgan and Maude Eteline Honaker Morgan, the descendants of Irish and Swiss immigrants, respectively, in the tiny Appalachian town of Ronceverte, West Virginia. Kyle was a railroad man and Maude was a homemaker. Maude died of what is believed to have been uterine cancer when Kat was in her early teens.

Kat was the second of five children born and fourth to pass away. Her siblings were Kyle Eugene Morgan, Norma Lea Morgan Artman, Leo J. Morgan and Albert D. Morgan.

In about 1943, Kat and her younger sister Norma moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut when they were promised jobs at the Bridgeport Brass Company in a factory that manufactured bullets and other munitions to supply our troops during the Second World War. The two sisters lived together in a young ladies' rooming house on North Avenue near the border of the town of Fairfield.

Soon after the war ended, Kat met and married Joseph W. Pasicki. Joe worked at the Peerless Aluminum Foundry in Bridgeport. Kat and Joe had two children, Joseph "Joey" W. Jr. and Deanna "Dee Dee" who each gave them two grandchildren.

Kat and Joe later bought a house in the much more rural town of Easton just to the northwest of Bridgeport where she enjoyed gardening and cooking Joe's favorite traditional Hungarian dishes.

Kat was a truly sweet and loving person who was kind to everyone and very obviously doted on her children, grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In her later years, she began to suffer from Parkinson's-like symptoms and colitis. Her beloved Joe died in 1999 after which she sold the house in Easton and moved to an apartment in Fairfield. In early October of 2008, her colitis suddenly worsened dramatically causing her to be hospitalized for a week. Her doctors moved her from intensive care when it seemed she was on the mend, but ultimately she succumbed.
