Blanche Hollandsworth Semones, 91, of Floyd, VA, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Carilion New River Valley Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1917, in Indian Valley, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman & Margaret Hollandsworth; husbands, Lawrence Gardner and Fred Semones; granddaughter, Carmen Gardner; five sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Thelma & Mike Maloney; son & daughter-in-law, Charles & the Rev. Beth Gardner; stepdaughter & son-in-law, Frankie & Tyler Turner; grandchildren, Karen & John Skinner, Phillip & Angie Keith, Kristi & Mark Shaw, Sharon Gardner, and Gregory Gardner; great-grandchildren, Michael Skinner, Sarah Skinner, Crystal, Brittany, and Thomas Keith; great great grandchild, Makayla Collins; brother-in-law, Hassell & Lula Semones; sister-in-law, Anita Gardner; and many special nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Maberry Funeral Home with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
