Helmi A. Kokko, 88, a former resident of Hancock, Michigan, passed away April 15, 2006, at the Omega House in Houghton where she had been a resident for a week.

The former Helmi Palo was born on February 16, 1918, in Princess Pointe, a daughter of the late Erick and Helmi (Nikkinen) Palo.

Helmi was united in marriage to Wayne Kokko. Together they moved to Hancock where she had resided for the past 61 years, moving to the Bluffs Senior Living Community this past July. Wayne preceded her in death on December 31, 1965.

Mrs. Kokko was a member of the First apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton.

Also preceding her in death were 3 brothers: Art, Erick, Arvi, and 3 Sisters: Sophie, Tillie, and Linda.
