Charles Barlow Simpson, born in Oberlin KS, the son of George Mathew and Rhoda Rosina Simpson of NE homesteaded a ranch about 14 miles NW of Gillette WY. Charlie Simpson's first marriage to Edith May Reno in 1896 resulted in no children and they amicably divorced in 1913. Charles remarried Amanda Mae Durbin after her divorce in 1914, and settled outside of Gillette on a ranch in what was then known as Oriva, WY. Charles and Amanda had 3 children.
