William A Howard has a CSA pension application on line under Early County in the GA Archives. He says he was a private in Company G, 13th GA Vols., Gordons Brigade. On 9 July 1864 at the Battle of Monocacy, Maryland he was wounded in his left hand. He lost the first joints of two fingers. His pension was $10 per year. His wife also has a pension application in the GA Archives.
