Funeral services for Merrill C. Cromwell of Springfield Township, who passed away on Sunday, April 13, 1947 at 4AM in the Lewistown Hospital, were held at the Walnut Grove Church of God near Maddensville on Wednesday afternoon. The services held at 2 o'clock were conducted by the Rev. C. N. Greider of Saltillo. Interment in the Cromwell Cemetery at Clear Ridge was directed by House's Funeral Service. Mr. Cromwell's death came after a three weeks' illness. He was a son of William and Juniata (Madden) Cromwell, and was born at Maddensville, Huntingdon County, September 16, 1902. He was united in marriage to Annie Wagner on April 21, 1927, at Three Springs. Mr. Cromwell followed the occupation of farming. Surviving besides his mother and his wife are two children, George and Cula at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Grissinger of Three Springs, and Rosella of Beaver, Pa.
