Micajah Willis was the son of Thamar Moore (1802-1850) and Abram Willis (1802-1860).
He married March 3, 1849, Susan Mary Moore (1831-1906), daughter of Charlotte Ann "Lottie" Yeomans and Samuel J. Moore.
Micajah and Susan had moved to Bogue Banks, Carteret County, NC, from Shackleford Banks, Carteret County, NC, prior to the 1860s and were living at Bill's Point, between Rice Path and Yellow Hill on Bogue Banks, in 1886. Susan Mary moved to Salter Path, NC, in the 1890s.
Micajah was one of three committeemen appointed in 1891 to a two year term to the Bogue Banks School District.
They were listed in the 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 US Census in Carteret Co., NC.
They had nine children:
