Opal M. Rogers

Graveside Services for Opal M. Rogers were 2 p.m. Monday October 20, 2008 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Margaret Clemings officiating.

Visitation, Noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Opal M. Rogers was born November 22, 1921 in Rockdale to Lee and Maggie (Davenport) Diver. She attended school in Rockdale.

On July 1, 1947, she and Dick Rogers were married in Rockdale.

Opal has lived the past 65 years in Rockdale. She had lived at a number of other cities through out the U.S. before returning home. She was a homemaker.

Opal passed away Friday morning, October 17, 2008 in the Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale, reaching the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick on August 14, 1984 and her brother, Vernon Diver.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Rogers and wife Janice of Rockdale and Joe Bill Rogers and wife Donna of Rockdale; daughter, Helen J. Bolmes and husband Warren of Oak Harbor, Washington; brother, Lee Diver and wife Carmen of Rockdale; nine grandchildren, Vicki Stackhouse, Terri Richter, Brad Bolmes, Corey Rogers, Wendy Praesel, Melanie Earley, Marcus Evans, Richard Evans, Clayton Evans; 19 great grandchildren, six great-great- gandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
