Loco, OK — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Griffith, 90, former Loco resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at the Loco First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.

Mary was born March 3, 1918 at Cornish, Okla., to the late William Jefferson and Elizabeth Nancy (Blakely) Brock. She departed this life Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at an Ardmore nursing facility.

Mary was raised in the Loco area, attending school at Mountain Home. She married Mr. J.M. Griffith Dec. 1, 1934, north of Ringling. They continued to live in the Loco area all of their lives, raising their 11 children. Mary was a devoted homemaker who loved to read her Bible, cook and travel. She was a lifetime member of the Loco Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband on Feb. 20, 1973; three sons, J.W."Dub", Tony and Virgil Griffith; son-in-law Dan Wells; grandchildren David Griffith, Barbara Kay Veneigh, Carrie Layne Collins, Curtis Griffith and Kevin Price; brothers Joe, Vernon, Bill and George Brock; and sisters Katie Janoe, Lucy Beams and Bertie Kinnard.

Survivors include three sons, Herman Griffith and wife Janice of Ringling, Jack Griffith and wife Margaret, Leroy Griffith and wife Lynn, all of Lone Grove; five daughters, Lois Boller and husband Stewart of Eufaula, Joyce Ellis and husband Marvin of Ardmore, Jean Remington and husband Les of North Port, Ala., Phyllis Carney of Oklahoma City, and Karron Wells of Duncan; 94 grand, great and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary bearers will be Rob Johnson, Joe Roberts, Bill Newman, Harold Lawrence and Charlie Cain.
