CIVIL WAR SOLDIER 69TH PA.INF Co. D.

Wesley was a drafted soldier from Chester Co. Pa. He was enlisted into the 69th Pa Reg (Philadelphia) at West Chester Pa 18th June 1864 aged 30 and mustered in the same day into Co. D. He survived the war and mustered out 1st July 1865 at Munsons Hill Va.
Died Feb 12th 1900 Old Soldiers Home Hampton Va.
Probably worked in the local mills in West Chester area.
Died at Old Soldiers Home at Hampton Va 12th Feb 1900. Buried in Hampton National Cemetery Va Plot C O 7781. Worked in the spinning mills of Pa. Probably never married. Had also been in the Pa. DVS home 16.4.1895. aged 60.
It is possible that Wesley was initially in the 71st Pa Inf and then transferred to the 69th Pa on 12th June 1864.
Nothing much known about his war service as now.(April 2013)
