G. P. Mitchell says Mrs. Bradford, who was then Frances Rogers and a little child, arrived in Jefferson in 1845 with her father on the second steamer that ever run up to Jefferson. Mr. Mitchell's father was a passenger on the boat and often spoke of those who were on the trip.
