Mrs. Rains died Oct. 10, 2008 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1927 in Dale, Okla., the daughter of William Owen and Pearl Matilda (Garner) Hunt. She was reared and attended school in Wayne.
In April of 1954 she married James C. Rains in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. Rains was a cook for Purcell Municipal Hospital and Sunset Estates Nursing Home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Rains, two daughters, Debra Fielder and Marilyn Brightwell; one grandson, Cody Fielder and seven siblings, Ethel McAlester, Melvin Hunt, Floyd Hunt, Wilburn Hunt, Alley Thompson, Bertie Randell and Alfonso Hunt.
Survivors include one daughter, Belinda Regalado and her husband, Modesto, of Purcell; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson on the way
