Mrs. Mae Marie Whitsel, 88, of Three Springs, R.D. 2, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 1977 at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home, where she had been a guest for two months.
Born October 5, 1888 in Clay Township, she was a daughter of C.B. and Susan (Rupert) Runk.
On December 23, 1914, she was married to Calvin M. Whitsel of Three Springs, R.D., at Shirleysburg by the Rev. George H. Swayne of the Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Whitsel preceded in death July 6, 1961.
Surviving are six children, Janvier, Rockhill; Willard, Three Springs, R.D.; Mrs. Russell (Alice) Brumbaugh, Huntingdon; Fern, Three Springs, Star Route; Mrs. Lester (Isabel) Eutzy, Shippensburg, R.D. 2 and Mrs. Kermit (Cleo) Wilson, Indiana. There are 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Runk of Blairs Mills, R.D. and Irb Runk, New Wilmington. Five sisters preceded in death.
The deceased was a member of the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, Hill Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, from the Raymond W. Ott funeral home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Albert Haught of Huntingdon will officiate. Burial will be in Monroe Chapel Cemetery, Three Springs R.D.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock this Friday evening, and on Saturday until time for services.
