Delpha C. Brookshire, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at the Rolla Manor Care Center at the age of 97.
She was born in Crocker, Mo., on Aug. 12, 1911, to the late Hugh and Rosa (Thompson) Cross. On Aug. 25, 1928, she married Lacy Brookshire and they were blessed with six children. Lacy preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1978.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, daughter Billie Ruth Harvey and son Allen Brookshire; son-in-law John Harvey; three brothers and three sisters.
Delpha was a member of the First Assembly of God in Rolla.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her children, Ted Brookshire and wife Judy, of Edgar Springs, Fred Brookshire and wife Carol, of Rolla, Barbara Blanton and husband Tom, of Springfield, Mo., and Shirley Deutsch, of Olathe, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Rosie Lea Brookshire, of Rolla; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services for Delpha Brookshire will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the Null & Son Funeral Home with Pastors Ray Cook and Chuck Whitmire officiating.
Interment will follow in the Edgar Springs Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Rolla First Assembly of God.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
